Professional Painters course (2 Days)

The course can be tailored to be yacht-specific and adjusted to include more practical elements, depending on several factors, such as the presence of ongoing repairs or the availability of compressed air onboard. The course is taught by an experienced former crew member with 12 years in the industry, as well as a skilled painter of over 10 years. We understand the unique challenges faced by crew members when it comes to repairs, particularly time constraints. Our course has been designed with these considerations in mind, ensuring it is both relevant and efficient for those working in a fast-paced environment.

This professional Painter course is conducted onboard the yacht. Our 2 day course includes the following:

– PPE
– Understanding datasheets and technical paint terminology
– In depth understanding of marine paints, brands and usages
– Tenting, taping and protection
– Spray gun components, setup, dismantling and cleaning
– Detailed explanation from substrate to topcoat
– Priming
– Fairing
– Sanding
– Topcoating
– Metallic paints and application
– Non skid application
– Flattening agent (matte/satin finishes)
– Blending techniques
– Polishing
